Join as Financial Controller in Amsterdam: shape business decisions, drive financial accuracy, and grow in an international, dynamic environment

Job description

Do you want to take ownership of your work and truly make an impact? For one of our clients in Amsterdam, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who enjoys working in an international, fast-growing environment where finance plays a key role in steering the business.

This organization operates globally within a highly regulated, production-driven environment and is known for its strong focus on quality, innovation and long-term sustainability. The company prefers to remain anonymous at this stage, but can be described as financially solid, ambitious and people-oriented.

Your role

As Financial Controller, you will be a key partner to the Head of Finance and management. You ensure financial accuracy, transparency and control, while also contributing insights that help the business move forward.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate monthly, quarterly and yearly closings and reporting

  • Manage and monitor general ledger accounts and balance sheet positions

  • Prepare financial reports, KPI dashboards and variance analyses for management

  • Support budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles

  • Act as sparring partner to the Head of Finance and advise on financial matters

  • Ensure internal control, compliance, audits and VAT-related filings

  • Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and administrative organization

Job requirements

Your background and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Economics, Accountancy or similar

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an international or production environment

  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or Navision) is a plus

  • Proactive, accurate and communicative, with the confidence to challenge and explain

You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment, remain calm under pressure and combine a hands-on mindset with a strong sense of responsibility. You are fluent in English; Dutch is a plus. You live in the Netherlands and hold a valid work permit.

Why join this company?

You will join an international organization where finance is seen as a strategic partner rather than a reporting function. The culture can best be described as professional yet informal, with short lines of communication and room for initiative.

What you can expect:

  • A permanent role with responsibility and visibility

  • An attractive salary package, including bonus participation and pension plan

  • Flexible working hours and a healthy work-life balance, including generous vacation days

  • Plenty of opportunities for professional development and continuous learning

This is a role for someone who wants to grow, influence and contribute to something meaningful.
